Norwalk, Ohio – Esther M. Tracht, 98, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2109 in Norwalk Memorial Home, Norwalk, Ohio. She was born to the late Emma (Strausbaugh) and Edward Weithman on December 17, 1920, in New Washington, Ohio. She graduated from New Washington High School in 1939; moved to the Norwalk area in 1956, and worked for Norwalk Furniture, training new employees and sewing from 1956 until her retirement in 1986.  Esther was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and she enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, crocheting scrubbies, and baking, as well as supporting her grandchildren's sports.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 2743, in Norwalk, Ohio and served as secretary for the Firelands Computer Club.  Esther is survived by her children Jim "J.T." (Ilene) Tracht and Thomas (Paula) Tracht, both of Norwalk, Ohio, by her daughter, Rosetta (Bob) Johnson, of Lewis, Colorado, by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior W. Tracht in 2002, by her siblings, Anne Phillips, Mary Niedermeier, Joseph Weithman, and Edward Weithman.  At Esther's request, there will be no visitation or services.  Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
