Ethel Alice Cesare, 87, of Spencer, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Mercy New Life Hospice. Born on April 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Bertha Mae (nee Ross) Prentiss. Ethel was a graduate of Wellington High School.

Ethel spent most of her life in the Wellington and Spencer area. For many years she worked on her family's farm, she later worked at Forest City and then at Black River Schools. Ethel enjoyed tending to her animals, from cats and dogs to horses. She also liked to watch and feed the birds. Most of all she cherished time with her family, especially her children.

Survivors include her children, Robin (David) Gill, of Canton, Keith Cesare, of Norwalk, Roxanne Cesare, of Wellington, Scott Cesare, of Spencer, and Mark Cesare, of Flagstaff, AZ; a granddaughter, Hannah; and sister, Kathleen Brown, of WA. Ethel was preceded in death by her brother Leonard Prentiss.
