Obituary

Etta G. Hamons, 77, residing in Monroeville, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland.

Etta was born on May 16, 1945, in Weston, West Virginia to the late Darius James Gough and Ethel (Duncan) Gough. She grew up in West Virginia before moving to the Norwalk area where she attended school.

Etta was a dedicated employee for ACMI in Norwalk before retiring after 34 years. She was a very faithful and involved member of the Maple City Church of God. Etta had various interests and hobbies, but her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Etta is survived by her son, David Hamons, Jr. Of Monroeville; 3 grandchildren, Jordan (Allen), Terry (Elizabeth), and Xanth (Lacy); 8 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jace, Levi, Kelsey, Isis, Osiris, Kyra, and Odin, and brother, Darius Junior Gough of Huron.

In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her husband, David Hamons, Sr; daughter, Dianna Meridian, and sister, Shirley Dotson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 11 am at Maple City Church of God, 79 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
