Eugine 'Pete' Mashburn, 75, of New London, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at his home. Eugine was born August 11, 1934 in Ephesus, GA to the late Fanny and Albert Mashburn. He was career military for 20 years, first signing up to serve his country in the Navy during his teenage years.
Eugine served his country during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
Eugine also worked as a corrections officer in Grafton and was a member of the VFW in Wellington. He enjoyed different, exciting activities ' everything from skateboarding to SCUBA diving. Eugine also liked tinkering with various items.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sonja; daughter, Deborah (Mark) Holsinger of Ashland; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Rosecrans, Sunny Hughes, Del Rosecrans, Ricky Cole and 7 great grandchildren. Eugine is also survived by a brother, James Mashburn. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Lee Miller and sister, Sue Roache.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial with military rites will follow at Huntington Cemetery.
