Eunice Loraine Bardis, 86, of New London, died Thursday, August 20, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Born on November 23, 1939, in Flatwoods, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Gillespie) Westfall. Eunice lived in New London for most of her life and was a 1957 graduate of New London High School.
Eunice enjoyed quiet time in her home reading her bible or watching Judge Judy while snacking on her favorite mini hostess powdered donuts and a Coke zero. She loved having her family close and cherished her time with them and found joy in cooking meals to feed those she loved. Eunice was a member of New London First Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed tending her garden, playing word puzzles, and especially her Sunday games of Trouble. Eunice adored her mail lady and looked forward to her arrival each day.
Eunice will be remembered for her sense of humor, her gentle spirit, and her love of all things peach themed. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. She truly was the best. Above all, she was a deeply devoted woman of God.
Survivors include her daughters, Michelle McReynolds, of Illinois, and Elizabeth Eldridge, of New London; grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Chelsea, Felicia, Rebekah, Danielle, and Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Khloe, Jordan, Haley, Nova Lee, Kyron, Serinity, Katie, Lincoln, Andrew, Benjamin, and John; a sister, Anita Nelson; her dear neighbors, Duane and Jill; and former neighbors, Diane, Greg, Nishele and Dina Massie. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Westfall; daughter, Lisa Vandergriff; son, Craig Westfall; siblings, Ruth Meade, Nancy Gregory, Edith Gordy, Shirley Nichols, and Ralph Westfall.
