Norwalk, Ohio - Evalyn J. Immel, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in her home. She was born May 20, 1928 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Ralph F. and Bernice (Kooken) Burras, and was a lifelong area resident. Evalyn was a member of the Olena Presbyterian Church, the Farm Women's Club, and the Young at Heart Club. She was a farm wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Evalyn enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and especially enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her sons, Samuel R. (Michele) Immel of St. Charles, Michigan, and Timothy E. (Jan) Immel of North Fairfield, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Jeff (Denise) Immel of Des Moines, Iowa, Josh (Michelle) Immel of Redding, California, Tory (Jamie) Castle of Norwalk, Ohio, Justin (Brooke) Immel of Norwalk, Ohio, Tessa (Chris) Rupp, of Norwalk, Ohio, Sarah (Chris) Turnbull, of Brighton, Michigan, and Nick Immel, of St. Charles, Michigan, and by 15 great grandchildren. Evalyn was preceded by her husband, Dale Immel in 1994, by her brother, Tom Burras, and by her grandson, Robert Immel. Friends may call on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Private graveside services will be in Olena Cemetery.
