Evelyn N. Buzard, age 87, of Howard, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was born March 27, 1924 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Omer and Norma (Milliron) Burkett. Evelyn was a 1942 graduate of Plymouth High School. She moved to New London in 1960 and to Howard in 2002. She worked for several years as a beautician, then at Plymouth Locomotive and owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store in New London with her husband Bill until 1984. She was member of the New London United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the New London American Legion Auxiliary. Evelyn enjoyed her grandchildren, bowling and golf. She is survived by her daughter, Jody (John) Kruki of Howard, her grandchildren, Emily Kruki and Mike McCloud and Sarah Kruki and fianc' William Hayes; her brother, Eldon (Mary Jo) Burkett of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Buzard in 1995. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London.
