Mrs. Evelyn Louise Funk, 90, passed away on December 2, 2008. She was born March 3, 1918 in Ruggles, Ohio to Lloyd and Mildred Beach Guilford. The Beach family was among the founding settlers in the Ruggles area. Her family moved to Akron, Ohio where Evelyn attended Rankin Elementary School. They then moved to Wyoming where she graduated with high honors from Riverton High School. She had a scholarship to attend the University of Wyoming, but returned to Ohio where she worked at The Savings and Loan Banking Company in New London, Ohio prior to her marriage to her husband of 67 years, Richard J. Funk. For the next 20 years Evelyn resided in Bellevue, Ohio where she was a member of The First United Methodist Church. Evelyn worked part-time at The Industrial Savings and Loan and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. Evelyn had resided in Willard since 1969. She continued working for the Willard branch of the Industrial Savings and Loan. She attended the Christian Alliance Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, daughter and son-in law, Sherry and Rich Nottke of Jacksonville, FL, grandson and his wife, Marc and Charly Nottke of Tallahassee, FL, and great-grandson, Adam Nottke. She is also survived by other beloved family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Christian Alliance Church, 1609 S Conwell Ave., Willard, Ohio at 12 noon on Saturday, December 6, 2008. Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the memorial service. Private family burial will be at the Ruggles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Alliance Church, 1609 South Conwell Avenue, Willard, OH 44890, Mercy Hospital, 110 E. Howard St., Willard, OH 44890, or the donor's favorite charity.
