Evelyn Ruth Reedy Ziegler, 96, of Wellington, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 28, 2019 with loving members of her family attending her. Ruth was born on July 29, 1923 and grew up in Brighton. Ruth married her Wellington High School sweetheart, Carl Zeigler, in 1942.

Ruth and Carl served in Bolivia as missionaries for 19 years, working mainly with the Ayoré Indian tribe. After returning to Wellington in 1968, Ruth worked for years at several flower shops in Wellington and was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church in Wellington.

Ruth is survived by five children, Mervin (Rosemary) Ziegler, of Mount Vernon, Beth Trimble, of Springfield, Becky (Bob) Lamb, of Wellington, Beverly (John) Kniowski, of Roanoke, VA, Merle (Kim) Ziegler, of Clinton, MS; 26 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Emerson Ziegler in 2002; son-in-law, Mark Trimble and daughter, Bonnie Mangun and her brothers.

Ruth loved the Lord and her family, and they loved her in return. She usually had at least one child on her lap at family gatherings, and though she was limited in eyesight in her later years, she always kept busy crocheting an afghan for the newest little one. Her loving kindness, patience, and wisdom will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Friends and family will be received from on Friday, December 6 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at the First Baptist Church, 125 Grand Ave., Wellington, with Pastor Rob Gribbin and Pastor Thomas Alexander officiating.
