Fay Meade, 76, of New London, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Cleveland Clinic. She was born on July 5, 1938, in Turkey Creek, Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late Maynard and Mary (nee Griffith) Dudley. Fay lived in New London for most of her life. She worked and retired at Kent Sporting Goods in New London. Fay enjoyed sewing, quilting, making dolls, clothes and teddy bears. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Roger; children, Barbara (Freeman) Parsons of New London, Roger W. "Bud" (Angie) Meade of New London, John M. Meade of Bellevue, Mary T. McCallister of Clarksfield and Dorothy (Darrell) Sword of New London; grandchildren, Valerie Houghtland, Freeman Parsons III, Jared Parsons, Todd McCallister, Tyler McCallister, Trent McCallister, Timothy McCallister, Brittney Sword, Josh Copas and Matt Copas ; 6 great grandchildren and sister, Edith (Harold) Barker of LaGrange. In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her children, Rose Marie Meade and Alex Meade; grandson, Thomas Elec McCallister and sisters, Edna Bowling, Elsie Dudley and May Dudley. Fay's family will greet friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday, December 7th at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held 11 am Monday with Pastor Charles Mead officiating.
