Francis Eugene "Joe" Postlethwait, 70, of Ashland, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at EMH University Hospital in Elyria after a lengthy illness. Born on August 29, 1947 in Youngwood, PA, he was the son of the late Minnie Mae (nee LaMasters) and Raymond David Postlethwait. Joe grew up in PA, graduated from SouthMoreland High School, and moved to Ohio in the late 70's. Joe was known for his hard work ethic. He worked as a construction foreman for Modern Poured Walls and as a machinist at Invacare in Elyria where he retired in 2011 after 26 years. He was an avid sports fan coaching youth football at Black River. Joe was also a dedicated member of AA. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene (nee Keffer) Postlethwait; children, Francis Eugene Postlethwait Jr. (Tammy Martin), Patrick Robert Postlethwait, both of Ashland, Daryll Clyde (Lacey) Postlethwait , of Wellington; grandchildren, Joshua Shire, Jacob Martin, Eliza, Lilly and Ella Postlethwait; great grandson, Dexter Allen Martin; mother-in-law, Gladys May Keffer; siblings, Evelyn Jane(Michael) Verba, Stephen Marshall, Gerald Edward (Linda)Postlethwait; sister-in-law, Verla Mae (Donald) Miller and an abundance of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded by; siblings, Betty LaMasters, Sarah Pauline, Raymond Postlethwait Jr., David Porter Postlethwait, Carl Wayne Postlethwait, Genevieve Lorraine, and Kent Dwight Ritenour; step mother, Lynda Betty Ritenour. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 3-7pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington, and again on Monday from 10 until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Gault officiating.
