Frances C. Olson, 93, of Vermilion and former resident of New London, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Mill Manor Nursing Home in Vermilion.  Frances was born on March 20, 1931, in Ashland, OH, the daughter of the late Cloyd L. and Goldie (Moomaw) Scherif.

Frances sold real estate for twenty years, worked for American Seaway Foods as rack merchandiser and Lorain National Bank.  She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lorain.  In her spare time, Frances enjoyed boating, especially the Erie Islands.  She loved to play bingo and going to casinos.  She loved the many memories and lasting friendships she found while wintering in Fort Myers, Florida for 27 years.

Frances is survived by her loving husband, George Olson of Vermilion; children, Michael (Jill) Marsh of New London, John Marsh of Florida and Monte (Trisha) Marsh of New London; stepchildren, Lori Olson of Lorain and Christopher (Constance) Olson of Strongsville; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Pam Smith of Howard, Ohio.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Constance Parsley; 2 sister, Kate Ray and Freda Spake, and brother, Cloyd Scherif.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851 with Pastor Mark Killgrove officiating.  Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2131 Park Avenue West, Ontario, OH 44906.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
