Obituary

Norwalk, Ohio - Frances Mae Stoneham, 90, of North Fairfield passed away Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016 at Norwalk Memorial Home. Born February 26, 1926 in Greenfield Township to Emma Herbon Hibbard and Charles Zoll, she attended Willard High School, and celebrated 66 years of marriage to Lester Stoneham. She played an active role in the family farming operation; driving tractors, hauling grain to Firelands Elevator, and later helping to operate the on farm grain system with wheat being her favorite crop. She enjoyed the role of bookkeeper until her recent accident. In the summer she could be found mowing her lawns, weeding her flowers, or working in her garden that supplied produce which she canned and froze. In the winter she enjoyed sewing for herself and making birthday and Christmas dresses for her granddaughters. Frances was a member of the Modern Maids & Matrons Farm Women's Club, was a poll worker for many years, and was a member of the Republican Central Committee. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard, and attended the North Fairfield United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW, was a youth group leader, and attended the Loyalty Sunday School Class over 60 years with many of those years having perfect attendance. Frances celebrated Thanksgiving every Sunday night with the gathering of family and scrumptious cooking. She was noted for her mashed potatoes, baked beans,and pecan pie. Those family members include sons & daughters-in-law, Leslie and Carol Stoneham, Dennis and Lynda Stoneham; grandchildren, Leann ( Duane) Palm, Lynden (Matt) Ramsey, and Les (Jamie) Stoneham; great grandsons, Lucas (Caitlin) Palm, Logan Palm, Lochlyn Ramsey, Leeland Ramsey, soon to arrive Elliott Clark Stoneham. Friends may call on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in North Fairfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, 105 W. Main St., North Fairfield, Ohio. Send Condolences
