IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fredrick Heinz
Hoffman
April 22, 1970 – October 12, 2024
Fredrick "Fred" Heinz Hoffman, age 54, of Fitchville, died on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his residence. Born April 22, 1970, he grew up in the family home on Palmer Rd and graduated from New London High School in 1989. He also attended EHOVE Career Center and earned a certificate in health occupations. Fred proudly served in the United States Army during Desert Storm; attaining the rank of Private First Class, Task Force 4th in the Battalion 21st Infantry.
Through his youth, Fred enjoyed participating in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He liked to watch movies, football, and South Park on TV. He would express his creativity through writing stories and comics, which were well written and often laced with his signature sense of humor. However, the most important thing to Fred was always his family. He was a proud uncle, brother, and son, and took an extended leave of absence to help care for his mother when she was ill. Fred cherished that time that he spent with his family.
Left to cherish Fred's memory are his father, John Hoffman; sisters Valerie (Tim) Halstead of New London, and Holly (Dan Wolery Jr.) Hoffman of Savannah; nephews, Louren Schott of Erie, PA, David Moore of Bellevue, Jonathon (Sydney) Martin of Wakeman, Thomas Halstead of Elyria, Timothy (Sam) Halstead of Elyria, and Zachary Wolery of PA; nieces, Xzalya Wolery of Savannah, Heather (Collin) Snow of Bellevue, and Hanna (Justin) Titus of Norwalk; and a great-niece, Aria Titus of Norwalk.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha (Heinz) Hoffman; maternal grandparents, Fred and Charlotte Heinz; paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Hoffman; a nephew, Addison Schott; and an uncle, Leonard Didion.
A private graveside service will be held in Fitchville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Eastman Funeral Home in New London is honored to assist with Fred's arrangements.
