Obituary

Gary A. "Barber" Cumberledge, 57, of Greenwich, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.  Gary was born on April 4, 1965, the son of Richard Cumberledge and Louieda Smith.

Gary was a 1984 graduate of New London High School.  He owned and operated Gary's Barber Shop for 35 years.  Gary was a member of the New London Eagles.  In his free time Gary enjoyed watching sports, hunting, playing softball, euchre and poker.  He was always up for a challenge of building things and doing mechanical repairs.  He was a true jokester.

Gary is survived by his children, Scott (Jordan) Cumberledge of Greenwich, Amanda (RJ Reinhold) Cumberledge of New Russia Twp, and Eric (Katy Dean) Swords of Ashland; mother, Louieda Smith of New London; fiancée Penny Sloan of Greenwich; grandchildren, Aimee Cumberledge and Brianna Kistler; and his brother, Richard Cumberledge of Columbus.  Gary was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick" Cumberledge and sister, Amy Beth Mitchell.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the New London Eagles, 29 West Fir Street, New London, OH 44851.  Memorial contributions are welcomed and may be directed to the family to assist with funeral cost and may be sent to the funeral home.  Arrangements were entrusted to Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, OH 44851.  Online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
