Gary Reed Hausman, 72, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at home. Born on September 18, 1946 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Harold and Betty (nee Cemer) Hausman. Gary grew up in Parma and later moved to New London.

Gary retired from the Elyria Chronicle Telegram after over 25 years. He enjoyed sailing and fishing. Known by the handle WB8ZZG, Gary was a ham radio operator. An intelligent man, Gary will be remembered for his pursuit of knowledge in many areas.

Survivors include his children, Gretchen (Ed) Morris, of Valley View, Michele (Bill) Hutson, of Lakewood, Jennifer (Scott) Kandle, of North Ridgeville, Guinnevere (Tom) Baker, of North Ridgeville, and Heather Haessly, of Olmsted Twp.; grandchildren Amanda, Billy, Daniel, Cory, David Jr, Isaiah, and Jacob; great-grandchildren Serena, Halie, Savannah, Jason, and Ryan; and a brother Keith Hausman, of Jelico, TN.
