Gaylord Coleman White, 76, of Columbia, South Carolina, died Saturday, September 28, 2013. He was born on October 2, 1936, in New London, son of the late Wilmer and Glorene (Coleman) White.
Gaylord graduated from New London High School in 1954 and Ohio Weslyn University. He served in the Air National Guard. Gaylord worked at Ford Motor Company, Wells Lamount, Rapid Engineering, Tranter Corp. and finished his career as a real estate agent.
He was a member of the North East Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
Gaylord was an avid stamp and coin collector and loved to travel.
He is survived by his children, Pamela Sue Baldwin of Columbia, South Carolina and Rodney Coleman White of Los Angeles, California; granddaughter, Autumn Grace Baldwin and brothers, Wilmer White and Winston White both of New London. Gaylord was preceded in death by his wife, Linda White; son, Wesley Alan White and sister, Rochelle Edgington.
The white family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Ben Black officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery.
