Genive "Ginny" Shipley, 82, of Wellington, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at her residence under hospice care surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Teaberry, Kentucky on January 18, 1940, to the late Edna (nee Tackett) and Garfield Hamilton.

Ginny resided in Nova before making Wellington her home. She previously worked for Rockwell International and POV Hinton Company before retiring from Forest City. She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed spending her time being a homemaker.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Jimmie Stafford, of Los Angeles, and Lesa (Tracy) Harper, of Ashland; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Shipley; sons, Randy Hunter and Odis Hunter; grandson, Daniel Hunter; and siblings, Danny (Roxie) Hamilton, Ernest (Pricilla) Hamilton Thomas (Sue) Hamilton, and Goldie Marie (Ealies) Hunter.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 12, at the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church, 205 Woodland St, Wellington, from 11 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 1 p.m. A family burial service will take place at Nova Cemetery.
