George R. Chill

George R. Chill, age 69, most recently of Fremont, Ohio, and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, after an illness at ProMedica Hospital in Fremont, Ohio. He was born on October 19, 1956, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Julian and Janice (Myers) Chill.

George loved spending time with his grandchildren, working on cars, and watching NASCAR and drag racing. He was a talented auto body repairman and had worked at many different places over the years, including his own shop which specialized in auto and semi repair.

George is survived by his children, Matt (and fiancé Erika Polley) Chill of Bellevue, Ohio, and Mark Chill and Keith Chill both of Norwalk, Ohio; grandchildren, Claire Chill, Zander Chill, and Alexus Hohenstein; and sister, Peggy (Christian) Moll of Gibsonburg, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by his siblings.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The visitation will be followed by a graveside committal service at 11:15 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
