George Dale Parks, Jr. age 82, of New London, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 in Pleasant View, Virginia.. He was born June 19, 1924 in New London, Ohio, son of the late George Henry and Florence Mae Parks. He was a lifelong resident of New London. Mr. Parks served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had worked as a line inspector for the Rural Lorain County Water Authority of Lagrange from 1975 until he retired in 1990. He had also worked at the former Ohio Body of New London, and Bailey Implement of New London. He was a member of the New London American Legion Post 292, the New London Eagles Arie #2869, the New London V.F.W #4654, the New London Masonic Floral Lodge 260. He was also a New London Volunteer Firefighter for many years.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Janis Marie Souter of Albuquerque, N.M., Tracy E. Stumpf of Monroe, Virginia, Linda L. Bradley of Shelby; a son, Danny B. Ux of New London; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Ream of Crestline, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Sumner Parks and Bud Parks.
Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
