Obituary

George T. Sheridan, 73, a 40 year Wellington resident, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. Born on June 18, 1935 in Youngstown, George was the son of the late Howard and Lucille (nee Bower) Sheridan. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956. George graduated from Kent State University in 1960. George worked as a sanitarian for the Lorain County Health Department; he also worked maintenance for Echo Valley Golf Club. George was a member of AA for 25 years and was very active within the organization. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, golf, tennis and watching the Cleveland Indians. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha B. Sheridan (nee Belland); and his two children, Jean Ann Norton and Timothy John and his wife, Stephanie Sheridan. George is also survived by his brother, Terrence Errol of North Bloomfield. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with an AA service starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where the funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with Rev. James Reymann officiating. A luncheon will be held at the Wellington Habilitation Center, 139 Weber Ct, immediately following the funeral.
