Georgetta Fay Hurst, 57, of Elyria and formerly of Wellington, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 7, 1957, in Mason WV, to the late George and Catherine Fay (nee Estep) Lyons, Jr. Georgetta spent most of her life in Wellington and was a 1975 graduate of Wellington High School. Georgetta worked in child care watching children out of her home. She was active with the ALS Northwest chapter, and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary post 1079 out of Elyria. Georgetta enjoyed anything having to do with crafting, including needlepoint, sewing, and crocheting. Georgetta is survived by her husband of 26 years Robert Hurst, daughters Robin Meredith and Beth Hamilton both of Elyria; 7 grandchildren and was anticipating the birth of a great grandchild; siblings Jo Ann Wolfe of Elyria, Rebecca Underwood of Vermilion, Larry Lyons of Wellington, and John Lyons of Oberlin. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 2, from 4-6 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
