Gerald L. Conklin, 84, of Rochester, died January 17, 2012 at The Elms in Wellington. Born in Rochester on May 1, 1927, to the late Lee and Pearl (nee Merrill) Conklin, Gerald was a lifelong resident of Rochester and was born in the house where he lived and farmed. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1945. He was also a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church. Gerald is survived by five siblings, Lela (Don) Breyley, Neva (Herb) Bournival, Richard (Emily) Conklin, Norma (Don) Siman and Vivian (Jim) Seeley and a sister-in-law, LaDonna Conklin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Conklin and brother, Charles Conklin. Visitation will be Saturday, January 21 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Rev. Tina Siroki officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Rochester Methodist Church, 201 South State Street, Rochester, Ohio 44090.
