Geraldine 'Gerry' Hall, 65, of Wellington, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Allen Medical Center due to complication of Alzheimers disease. Born in Floyd County, KY on September 21, 1944, to the late John Mitchell and Dakota (nee Newsome) Hall, Gerry lived in Floyd County and was a graduate of Betsy Lane High School.
Gerry worked in the dental industry for 35 years. She graduated in the first EFDA program offered from Case Western Reserve University, serving the Wellington community with Dr. Pall, Dr. Myers and Dr. Adams and she loved her work. She was a member of the Penfield Community Church, where she sang in the choir, was a deaconess and trustee, building committee member, and taught Sunday School for many years. Gerry loved ball room dancing, musicals and operas, visiting friends in nursing homes, traveling and gardening. Active in her grandchildren's lives, she cherished attending their various activities.
She leaves behind two daughters, Beverly (Mike) Poiner and Gerry (Rob) Caldwell, both of Wellington; 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Jacob, Zachery, Jamie, McKenzie, Riley; 3 brothers, Jerry Hall of Amherst, Daniel Hall of Lorain, Doyle Hall of Grethel and 2 sisters, Shirley Stumbo of Betsy Lane, KY and Sally DeLeo of Australia. She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Hall and brother, Curt Hall.
A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to celebrate her life at the Penfield Community Church, 40775 State Route 18, on Monday, October 19, visitation at 6 p.m. and memorial service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Chris Reutepohler officiating.
