Gerhard Stanley Becker, 61, of Wellington, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. Garry was born January 22, 1949 in Cleveland to the late Gerhard William and Mildred (nee Bauers) Becker. He was a graduate of Avon High School and attended the Lorain County Community College. Garry worked commercial construction for several companies as a project manager. He was a skilled builder, enjoyed golfing as well as hunting, fishing and spending time at his family's cabin he built. Garry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janice (nee Foster) Becker; his three children, Kelley Ann (Bernard) Fay of Cuyahoga Falls, Christopher (Kerry) Becker of Waterville, and Brian (Danielle) Becker of Lewis Center; five grandchildren, Lauryn, Ella, Bailey, Cohen, and Wesley, and his faithful dog, Riley. Garry is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Carl) Haag of Avon Lake and stepmother, Ann Becker of Avon. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Rt. 58, Huntington, on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 6 p.m. with a time of visitation for friends and family beginning at 4 p.m. Rev. Steve Carmany will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Mercy Cancer Center, 41201 Schadden Rd., Elyria 44035.
