Gladys Streicher Kruk, 91, of Wellington, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Vancrest Health Care Nursing Home in Holgate, Ohio. Born to the late Louis and Rose (nee Grugel) Streicher in Oberlin on October 24, 1922, Gladys was a 1940 Oberlin High School graduate and a graduate of Oberlin Business College. For fifty years she worked at Oberlin College as an administrative assistant. Gladys was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst. She was also a member of the Wellington American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, the Town and Country Club, the Wellington Seniors and the Willing Workers. In her spare time, Gladys loved to travel and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include her nephews, Louis Streicher, of Holgate and Randall Saxe, of Ormond Beach, FL; nieces, Norma Grau, of Temperance, MI and Nancy Saxe, of Islamorada, FL; sister-in-law, Sophie Brandt, of Lake Worth, FL; four great nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nikolay Kruk, in 1981; brother, Kermit Streicher and brother-in-law, John Kruk. Visitation will be held at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington on Friday, February 21 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Rev. Terry Adamson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
