Gladys Mae Laborie, 99, of Wellington and formerly of Huntington, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010. On April 9, 1911, Gladys was born in Ashland to the late Harrison and Sarah (nee DeVies) Wertman. Until her retirement in 1989, Gladys worked as a both a Cardiac Tech and an Operating Room Nurse at Wellington Community Hospital. She was a member of the United Church of Huntington, the Huntington Historical Society and the Wellington Senior Citizens. Gladys' hobbies included baking, cross stitching and crocheting. Survivors include her sons, Ronald Laborie of Portage and Robert Laborie of Elyria; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; brother, Charles Wertman, and sister Dorothy Pearce. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 17 at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Route 58, Huntington, OH 44090 with Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery. Donations in Gladys' memory may be made to the United Church of Huntington.
