Obituary

Glenn Alva Harper, 82, of Nova, Ohio, died at home on March 11, 2022.  He was born on August 1, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Glenn N. and Kathryn J. (Haber) Harper.

Glenn was a sharp dressed man who loved fast cars, fishing, draft beer, scotch, and any time he was able to spend with family and friends.  He was always up for a party, and the celebrations and pig roasts held at his home were legendary.  Glenn enjoyed cutting his grass, and caring for his farm, and never met a television that he didn't like.  He seldom hid his disdain for liberals, and was relentlessly steadfast and faithful to God, his wife, and family in general.

Glenn served his country as part of the United States Army.  He was stationed in Germany and enjoyed driving armored personnel carriers.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #313 in Sullivan and had achieved the 33rd Degree and served as Worshipful Master.  He retired from Lake Erie Electric where he was an electrical estimator for many years.

Survivors include his children, Beth (Jay) Shisler of Wooster, OH, Glenn L. (Holly) Harper of Columbus, OH, Julie Harper of New London, OH, and Katie (Jerry) Cox of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Annie (Braden Cox) Harper, Austin and Riley Harper, Megan Harper, Coen "Coenski" Cox, Kylie "Baby" Cox, and Danny and Davey Shisler; brother, Robert "Brother Bob" (Nellie) Harper of North Ridgeville, OH; nieces and nephews, Bobby (Diane) Harper, Scott (Lisa) Harper, and Lynn (Dan) Wise.  He is also survived by many cousins, several great nieces and great nephews, and Darrell Lubinsky whom he loved as a son.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Karen Harper, brother, John Harper, and nephew, Christopher Harper.

Friends and family are invited to a private celebration of Glenn's life to be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, Ohio.  A more public celebration is being planned for the spring at Glenn's home.  Online condolences to the family may be expressed by visiting: www.eastmanfuneralhome.com
