Obituary

Glenn Raymond 'Red' Wetherbee, 68, of Wellington, went with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, February 15, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 9, 1941 in Lodi and served as a Seaman in the Navy from 1960 to 1964. After his service to his country, Glenn moved to Wellington and worked for the Lee Motor Company and Tite Seal Case Company. Glenn also worked for Harshall Chemical. In 1997, he retired from the Ford Plant after 30 years on the paint department assembly line. Glenn was an extremely active member of the Wellington Free Will Baptist Church. His duties at the church were important to him and the church members were like his second family. He was also a member of the Wellington Eagles. Glenn loved bowling and working in his yard; he especially enjoyed raising green beans in his flower bed. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Suriviors include his wife and soul mate of almost 47 years, Betty; sons, Jymmie (Cheryl) and Michael (Beth) Wetherbee, both of Wellington; grandchildren, Curtis (Cynthia), Hayley, Hunter and Haven and great grandson, A.J. Glenn is also survived by his stepfather, Ernie Hughes; brothers, Bob (Jo) Wetherbee of KY, Harry (Judy) Wetherbee and Gary (Colleen) Wetherbee, both of Wellington; brother-in-law, Wayne (Pat) Streator of SC and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Hughes; father and stepmother, Raymond and Irene Wetherbee and his sister, Linda Streator. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 17 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church, 205 Woodland Ave., Wellington, where friends and family may also call from 5 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 6 p.m. on Thursday with Pastor Joshua Workman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to the Free Will Baptist Church.
