Gloria M. (nee Boise) Studebaker, 84, of Baconton, GA and formerly of Wellington, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. She was born in Wellington on June 26, 1931 to the late Myron E. and M. Alice (nee Loveland) Boise. A 1949 graduate of Wellington High School, Gloria helped write the music and words for the WHS alma mater. She later took classes at Bryan College in Dayton, TN. Gloria attended Faith Community Church in Spencer and later Heritage Baptist Church in Albany, GA, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the piano and organ. Gloria was very social and loved visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and baking. She will be remembered as a loving mother who took great joy and care in raising her family. Gloria is survived by her children, Linda (Carl) Threatt of Corrales, NM, Dwight (Mitsi) Studebaker of Roanoke, VA, Joe (Gail) Studebaker, of Baconton, GA, and Joan (John) Wallis of E. Chicago, IL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Lou (Paul) Mayo of Oberlin and Chuck (Linda) Boise of Wellington and her sister-in-law, Cynthia Sugaski, of Wellington. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill, in 2013 and siblings, Max Boise and Martha McLaughlin. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, with Pastor Tom Keller officiating.
