Gordon Edward "Ed" Polley, 75, of Wellington, died Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Mercy Allen Hospital. Born on September 4, 1948, in Chicago IL, he was the son of the late Henry and Lois (nee Hawkins) Polley. Ed grew up in Chicago before moving to Indiana and ultimately to Wellington in 2021.
Ed was a truck driver for many years, retiring in 2008. He loved all things to do with cars and trucks and especially liked to watch John Wayne movies. Ed took great pride and found much joy in diligently tracing his family's genealogy. He was also an avid Chicago sports fan, proudly flying his White Sox flag outside the house.
Survivors include his daughters, Andrea (Larry) Ninis, and Michelle (Michael) Furio; grandsons, Dale A. Utley and Jeremy E. Utley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his nine siblings.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 with a prayer service beginning at 7:45 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington.
