Willard, Ohio - Harmena "Irene" Elmer, 78, of Norwalk, OhIo, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the OhioHealth Med Central Hospital, Mansfield, Ohio. She was born March 21, 1937 in Willard, Ohio, to the late Henry W. and Harmina (Bogema) Newmeyer. Harmena attended Willard Schools, and is survived by her husband, Richard L. Elmer, by her children, Michelle (Bobby) Barnes of West, Texas, and Kevin R. Elmer of Norwalk, Ohio. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia (Bob) Smith, and Hilda Lee, and by her brothers, Theodore (Kay) Newmeyer, Herbert Newmeyer, and Dale (Phyllis) Newmeyer, and by Harmena's dearest friend, Carol Ashcroft. Harmena was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Elmer in 2000, and by her sisters, Wilma Baumier, Emma Shetterly, Mary Frederick, Julia Ginter, Rose Wadsworth, and Crystal Messersmith.
