Amherst, Ohio - Harold G. Christman, 88, of Amherst, Ohio, and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 in the New Life Hospice, Lorain, Ohio. He was born November 2, 1927 in Amsbury, Pennsylvania to the late Irvin and Mary (Bowman) Christman. Harold moved to Lorain, Ohio, from Pennsylvania, and had lived in Huron, Ohio, and Norwalk, Ohio, before moving to Amherst, Ohio, in 2013. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1981. Harold was a member of American Legion Post #52 of Milan, Ohio, and was a former member of Firelands Post #2753 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Ohio, and Eagles Aerie #711 of Norwalk, Ohio. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers, and Pittsburg Pirates fan. Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty J. (Bruce) Christman of Amherst, Ohio, by his son, Larry (Ruthann) Christman of Amherst, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Wadsworth of California, Geraldine Malcolm of Washington, Delores "Dee" Ritz of Vermilion, Ohio, Linda Fullem of Pennsylvania, and Patricia Savel of Wellington, Ohio. Harold was preceded in death by his son, Barry Christman in 2000, by an infant son, and an infant daughter, by his brothers, Robert and James Christman, and by his sister, Twila Moyes.
