Harold D. "Don" Frankenfield, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Ohio Veteran's Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on December 5, 1932, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to the late Harold A. and Clara I. (Schneider) Frankenfield.
Don served his country for 8 years proudly as a U.S. Marine, during the Korean War. He enjoyed golf and reading and was a very hard worker. He had his own concrete company, Don Frankenfield Concrete Company, later working for Huber, Hunt and Nichols Construction Company. Don was an active member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Norwalk V.F.W. 2743, and American Legion Post 41.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Frankenfield; grandchildren, Stewart, Hannah, and Jon; great grandchildren, Tori, Eli, Sara, Ariel, Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughters, Kimberly and Vicky; siblings, William and Kenneth Frankenfield, and Sarah Hauth.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, beginning at 11 a.m. followed by placement in the church columbarium after the service. A lunch will be held for guests in the church basement after the services. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, OH 44857.
