Harold E. Gardner, 53, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky following a lengthy illness. He was born on January 29, 1956 to Frank and Ada Gardner and was a lifelong New London resident. Harold worked as a freelance carpenter. He enjoyed camping and he loved his Harley.
Survivors include his children, Jason Gardner of Fitchville and Julie Gardner of New London and 3 grandchildren, Hunter, Paige and Rowan Gardner. Harold is also survived by his mother, Ada Gardner and 3 brothers, Charles of Sandusky, Ralph of New London and Mark of Huron. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gardner; a grandson, Tyler Gardner; grandfather, Everett Gardner; grandmother, Edith Southard and a niece, Lori Gardner.
Friends and family will be received from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. A private burial will take place at Grove Street Cemetery. Donations in memory of Harold may be directed to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
