Harold E. Pence, 84, of Castalia, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on May 14, 1927, in Ashland, to the late Ralph and Molly (Langhery) Pence.
Harold lived in Savannah, Sullivan, New London and resided in the Sandusky area for over 30 years. He worked in farming for many years and at Industrial Nut Corporation, Sandusky as a machinist. He later owned and operated J&L Sharpening Service in Sandusky for 30 years. Harold served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the Sandusky AMVETS and American Legion Post 83.
Survivors include a very special friend, Alfreda; daughters, Sharon Wadsworth of Bradenton, FL and Linda (David) Britt of New London; stepson, Lee (Jan) Cline of WI; 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and siblings, Margie Folsom of Ellenton, GA and Ralph (Dink) Pence of Ashland. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Leo Pence in 1997; infant son, Gary Pence; brothers, Jim and David Pence; twin brothers, Gene and Glenn Pence; sisters, Kate Figley and Mary Warner and an infant sister, Nora Pence.
A private family service will be held at Eastman Funeral Home, New London. Memorials if desired may be given to the American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
