Harold R. Pettry, 70, of Lorain, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Elms Retirement Village. Harold was born in West Virginia to the late Oma and Della (nee Webb) Pettry on December 28, 1940. Harold worked for the American Ship Building company until it closed and retired from Van Dorn Demag in Strongsville. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Harold is survived by his sons, Harold (Irma) Pettry, of Oberlin and Jack (Melanie) Pettry, of Huntington Twp.; grandchildren Adam, Ryan, Bradley, Lauren, and Brandon; and siblings Elbert and Mary. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, and a sister, Florence. Friends will be received on Monday, September 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Cemetery, Lorain.
