Eastman Funeral Home 419.929.3781 Harold S. Wilcox, 86, of Barberton, passed away early Friday morning, July 8, 2016 at Akron General Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Care. Harold was born May 10, 1930 in New London, to the late Fred and Agnes (nee Lindenman) Wilcox. He was a graduate of New London High School. Harold proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 where he had attended Jet Aircraft School and Hydraulic Specialty School. He was a jet mechanic, delivery truck driver, and was very skilled in crafting custom cabinets. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Lions Club, a life member of all veterans clubs including the American Legion, Norwalk V.F.W., Korean War Vets Association of Findlay and the North Baltimore Honor Squad. He participated in an Honor Flight to Washington DC. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dorothy Ann; sons, Terry (Beth) Wilcox of Westlake, Kurt (Debbie) Smith of Barberton and Alan (Janet) Smith of Wellington; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and former spouse, Thelma Wilcox. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Wilcox; sister, Marilyn Cook; brother-in-law, Harry Doederlein, mother-in-law, Mary Ford and father-in-law, Sterling Ford. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the noon service Monday, July 11, 2016 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with Pastor Tim McCollum officiating.
