Harrison Charles Tripp, 88, of Wellington, died Thursday, September 15, 2011. Born in Cleveland on August 30, 1923, Harrison was the only son of Lesley and Lillian (nee Gill) Tripp. After living in Elyria and Rochester, Harrison settled in Wellington in 1999.
He was employed by C.E. Ward Company, in New London, and Cresco Company, in Ashland. Harrison retired from Norwalk Furniture. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington and the Rochester Baptist Church.
Harrison enjoyed bowling, operating any type of machinery and mowing his lawn. He also proudly attended his children and grandchildren's school activities.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Marjorie (nee Lee); children, Bill (Donna) Tripp, of Goshen, IN, Diana (Chris) Sloan, of Lorain, Warren (Helen) Tripp, of Litchfield, and Gene Tripp, of Wellington; 11 grandchildren, Dana, Kara, Lisa, Leanne, Brad, Andrea, Trent, Troy, T.J., Justen, Jorden and 16 great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wellington, 125 Grand Ave., with Rev. Thomas Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
