Obituary

Harry Wallace Mahoney, 91, New London, passed away August 18, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, surrounded by his family. Harry was born on April 28, 1922, in Fairchance, PA to Wade and Bessie (Humbert) Mahoney. He graduated from Uniontown, PA High School in 1940. He married Virginia Dare Ganoe, of Uniontown, September 15, 1946, she survives. Harry retired from Rural Lorain County Water Authority in 1990. Harry was a Lieutenant in the 15th Army Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in Grottaglie, Italy, he piloted a B-24 Liberator and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. A member of the Kingdom Hall of Norwalk. Harry was baptized in 1953 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and has served his God faithfully ever since. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Kathleen Mahoney of New London and Rebecca Mahoney of Wellington; sons, Thad (Marilyn) Mahoney of Seville, Terry (Pam) Mahoney of Ashland, Tim (Terri) Mahoney of Spencer and Todd (Judy) Mahoney of Homerville; as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Hallie Livingston, Elinor Mahoney, Ethel Mahoney and Klara Mahoney and Jackie Grove as well as brothers, Walter, William, Woodrow and Wade Jr Mahoney. Friends may call Wednesday, August 21st from 6-9 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio where a service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Brother Jim Bartow officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery.
