IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harvey John
Danhoff
January 19, 1954 – June 3, 2023
What can be said about a man so beloved by so many? A man who was fiercely devoted to his wife and children, to his parents and siblings and also to the myriad of friends he made along the way. Harvey John Danhoff was that man. He was born in Willard on January 19, 1954, the fourth of five children of Harold and Adrianna (Cok) Danhoff. On June 3, 2023, at the age of 69, he was gathered into the loving arms of his Savior and Lord in heaven and rejoined the parents he has missed so much. He was also greeted by his sweet granddaughter, Faith Marie.
Harv had a wonderful childhood in his home town of Celeryville, Ohio. Growing up, he, his siblings and cousins worked for his dad and uncles on the muck farm. Whenever the cousins get together, hilarious stories and great memories come popping up. A 1972 graduate of Willard High School, where he played football all four years, three years on the basketball team and a year in wrestling.
In 1977 Harv moved out to Washington State to live by and work with his older brother. Shortly after moving to the Puget Sound area, Harv met Sue Rodman. They married in 1980 and were married for almost 43 years. They settled in to the town of Vaughn, Washington and had two children, Crystal Adrianna and Benjamin Harvey Lee. While in Washington, Harvey played softball for several years, then helped coach Sue's softball team. Later in life Harvey became an avid golfer, which became his biggest passion.
As his parents became elderly, Harv decided to move with his family back to Celeryville, and took up residence across the street from them. Harv helped take care of his dad until he passed away in 2004. Once his mom, Adrianna, became confused and couldn't live alone, Harv and Sue moved in with her where they lovingly took care of Adrianna until she passed away in 2015.
Harv was diagnosed with non-operable, stage 4 stomach cancer in August of 2022. After trying 6 months of several kinds of chemotherapy, the tumors were still growing. Believing that his life is in God's hands and trusting that all things work for good to those who love him, he believed that if not healed on Earth, Harv would be healed at the feet of his Father in heaven.
Harvey leaves behind his beloved wife, Sue, and children, Crystal (Brian) Hale (Vaughn, Adrianna) of Land O'Lakes, Florida, and son, Ben (Aleshia) Danhoff (Karlie, Jaidin, Sadie, Bentley) of Defiance, Ohio; his siblings, Doug (Anne Marie) Danhoff of Oakdale, California, Rita (Joel) Becraft of Cassopolis, Michigan, Rebecca (Dave) Veltkamp of Grandville, Michigan, and Don (Sharon) Danhoff of Willard, Ohio, and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, cousins, and many, many wonderful friends.
