Hazel O. Amburgy, 82, of Greenwich, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born October 21, 1928 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late George and Sara Jewell. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Hazel loved to sing, play guitar and piano. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and doing puzzles. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Harold E. Amburgy; children, Anita (Jim) McCoy of Greenwich, Larry (Joetta) Amburgy of Indiana, Danny (Linda) Amburgy of Oberlin, Ronnie (Kay) Amburgy of Florida and Johnny (Cindy) Amburgy of Mt. Blanchard; son-in-law, Ray Krisha; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Naoma Holliday, Leona Holliday, Charlie Jewell and Paul Jewell. Hazel was preceded in death by her daughter, Ramona Krisha; siblings, James Jewell, Judy McCoy,Gertrude Pruit and Norlee Rice. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Richard Ates officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Memorial donations if desired may be given to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home.
