Obituary

Hazel E. Burson, 69, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at home after a long illness. Born on May 15, 1943, in Shelby. Hazel grew up in Shiloh but was a longtime resident of Greenwich. She received a business degree from Mansfield Business College. Hazel was an avid reader and was a reader at the South Central Elementary Ohio Reads. She loved to help at LOGO's. Hazel was an active member of Greenwich United Methodist Church and was involved in church activities. Hazel loved shopping with her sisters and being with family. She especially loved being called 'Nana.' She collected bells and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Survived by her husband of 19 years, Larry, whom she married June 26, 1993; sons, Greg (Sherrie) Williams of Shelby and Brad Williams of Willard; daughter, Barb (Ray) Kilgore of Shelby; stepchildren, Aleena (Jesse) Snyder of Mansfield and Troy (Amanda) Burson of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jenifer and Jeromy Kilgore of Shelby; step grandchildren, Bryant, Emilee, Wesley, Elizabeth and Elisha Burson and Julia, Josiah and Molly Snyder all of Mansfield; mother, Thelma (Matthews) Heifner of Wauseon, sisters, Eva (Gene) Palmer of Willard, Ruth Vanderpool of Clayton, NC and Mary (Jimmie) Johnson of Delta; brothers, Marty Heifner of Paulding and Warren Heifner of Shiloh; many nieces, nephews and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her father, Russell Dick; infant brother, David Dick and sisters, Helen Risner and Pearl Stackhouse. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich. A service will be held at 11 am Friday at Greenwich United Methodist Church, 18 E. Main St., Greenwich with Pastor Ruthie Trigg officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or Greenwich United Methodist Church.
