Helen Ruth (nee Wilson) Burton, age 95, of New London died Friday, August 22, 2008 at The Firelands Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, New London. Helen was born August 11, 1913. She was an LPN, homemaker, Sunday School Teacher and Church Organist. Helen and her husband Clarence enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie and taking trips to Florida and Canada. She is survived by her children, Rolland Ray and Shirley Burton of New London, son-in-law, Stanley (Pat) Tester of North Fairfield, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. 'Slim' Burton in 2002, and her daughter, Jeanne Tester in 1998. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the Fitchville Cemetery. Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, is in charge of arrangements.
