Helen E. Herold

Helen E. Herold, 88, of Norwalk, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Gaymont Nursing Center. She was born on November 2, 1937, to the late Lloyd and Miriam (Harper) Hite and was one of ten children.

A lifelong resident of the area, Helen graduated from Norwalk High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Robert C. Herold, on July 4, 1957, and together they shared many years of a devoted and loving marriage. Helen worked as a seamstress for Kent Sporting Goods for 17 years. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing and listening to country music, as well as sewing, baking, and tending to her garden.

She is survived her son, Robert L. Herold; her brother, Robert Hite; her grandchildren, Joe Albright, Janet (Albright) Brauen, and BJ Herold; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert C. Herold; her daughter, Miriam Hawk; her siblings, Shirley Coy, Dorothy Haupricht, Rosemary Scoville, Harper Hite, Walter Hite, David Hite, Paul Hite, and William Hite.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St, Norwalk. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 10 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Heartland Ridge Cemetery.
