Helen Kruki, 75, of New London, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. She was born on June 28, 1933 to the late Clarence and Florence (nee Millard) Christensen. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Helen graduated from Bensen High School in Omaha. She moved to New London in 1969.
Helen owned and operated Kruki's Klothing in New London for many years. She was a member of the New London United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxilary. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her five sons, Bill (Jovinna) Kruki of Lake Forest, CA, John (Jody) Kruki of Howard, Mike (Holly) Kruki of Columbus, David Kruki and Jason (Mandi) Kruki all of New London and 13 grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her siblings; Harold Christensen of Tarpon Springs, FL and Caroline (Harold) Clary of Fort Calhoun, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; a granddaughter, Leigha and a brother, Richard Christensen.
Friend may call from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday with Rev. Cathy Ake officiating.
