Helen Mae Leber, of Greenwich and most recently of Willard, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 82. She was born February 10, 1933 in Norwalk to Theodore and Helen (Sheaffer) Heitsche. Helen married the love of her life, Walter H. Leber, Sr., they shared nearly 59 wonderful years together.
Helen was as a farm wife and homemaker that cherished spending time with her family. Author of four books under the name of Helen Mae Wallace, she enjoyed traveling, camping and going for walks in the woods. She was very fond of music and theatre.
Helen is survived by her children, Walter (Fay) Leber of Greenwich, Patty (Russell) Paramore of Virginia, Theresa (Erik) Hansen of Sandusky, Lori (Don) Sparks of Greenwich, Larry (Mendy) Leber of Plymouth, Wendy (Bryan) Oney of North Fairfield, Norman Leber of Willard and Frances (Kelly) Bussart of Willard; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Including her husband in August 2013, and parents, Helen was preceded in death by her great granddaughters, Abby and Taylor and brother, Ted Heitsche.
Helen's family will receive friends Friday, January 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich where a service will be held at 10 am Saturday with Pastor Mark Boedeker officiating. Burial to follow in Nineveh Cemetery, Greenwich.
