Helen M. Miller, age 87, of New London and formerly of Greenwich, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, New London. She was born May 23, 1924 in New London, daughter of the late Clarence H. and Chloe P. (Pond) Wolfe. She attended New London Schools. Helen moved to Greenwich when she was 18 years old. She had lived in Norwalk for 6 years before moving back to New London 18 months ago. Helen worked at Pioneer Rubber, Pepperidge Farm, as a Home Health Aid and sold Stanley Home Products for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwich and had been a member of the Greenwich American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Myers of Huron and Pam (Arthur) Norman of Norwalk; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Howard Wolfe of New London, Ruth (Bobb) Witt of Norwalk, June (Charles) May of Greenwich; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Miller in 1989, grandson, Christopher T. Norman, granddaughter, Hope Myers, sisters, Erma Coy, Almeta Thomas, Evelyn Wacker, Margery Bellamy, son in law, Nelson Myers.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 96 Townsend St., Greenwich with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to the church.
