Herman Lloyd Norton, age 83, of Pittsfield Township died Tuesday, May 13th at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin following a short illness. He was born and raised in Pittsfield Township. Herman worked for the Village of Wellington Street Dept. and retired after 35 years of service in 1990. He enjoyed watching sports and farming. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Esther (Mull) Norton; four sons, Dale (Cindy) of Elyria, George (Cindy), Chuck (Sherry) and Perry (Sharon), all of Wellington; a daughter, Martha (Guy) Shreves of Wellington; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandkids. Herman is also survived by his sister, Bessie Sigsbey of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Martha (Waite) Norton, a sister, Mabel Norton and brother, Perry Norton. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Friday, May 16 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington and from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 11 am, Saturday at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 St. Rte. 58, with Pastor Kenneth Gerhardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Pittsfield East Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pittsfield Community Church.
