Hildegarde Elizabeth Welch, age 93, of Wellington, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at her sisters home in Grafton after a lengthy illness. She was born February 27, 1919 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (nee Schuller) Botsch. Hilda had lived most of her adult life in Wellington. She was a 1937 graduate of Berea High School. She had been a secretary for the Lorain Medina Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. for many years. She was a member of the Wellington United Methodist Church and the Transylvania Saxton of Cleveland. Hilda enjoyed making quilts with the Penfield Quilters. She enjoyed working outside, loved to cook and bake, bowling and crocheting.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Victoria (Wilson) Pabon and Linda (Chuck) Boise all of Wellington; 2 stepgrandchildren, Russell (Pat) Simmons and Christy Pabon; a step great granddaughter, Abigail Simmons; 2 sisters, Margaret Catherine (Botsch) Carpenter and Catherine Ann (Botsch) Todd both of Grafton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard 'Bill' Joy in 1963 and Willis Welch, Jr., her brothers, Raymond Martin Botsch and Martin Raymond Botsch.
Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Rev.
